Retail Roundup: Comings and Goings in Lincoln Square

LINCOLN SQUARE — As warmer weekend temps brought Chicagoans out of hibernation, residents of Lincoln Square discovered a number of changes that have taken place in the neighborhood's main retail district over the winter.

Yogurt Square, 4701 N. Lincoln Ave.: A sure harbinger of spring, Yogurt Square re-opened after its annual winter break. Now hiring "friendly faces."

DLR, 4703 N. Lincoln Ave.: Customers had grown accustomed to the boutique periodically closing as staff swapped out seasonal inventory. Recent signs posted to the shop's door indicated a similar reorganization was under way, but DLR is clearly gone for good.

Eclecticity, 4752 N. Lincoln Ave.: Eclecticity has struggled financially for the past year and owner Siri Soderblom has finally decided to pull the plug on the shop. "We can no longer afford to keep our doors open," she announced on Facebook. A graduated sale is under way, with the entire store starting at 10 percent off and discounts growing as the days pass.

New resale shop, 4764 N. Lincoln Ave.: In the past five years, this storefront has been home to the Dressing Room, Frill and blink-and-you-missed-it Splurge. A "coming soon" resale shop is next to take the address for a spin.

Lou Malnati's, 4344 Lincoln Ave.: We know, technically Malnati's is located in North Center. But people have been known to cross neighborhood borders for pizza. After a delayed start, the pace of construction is picking up at this site.
