CHICAGO — A 52-year-old man was killed and a man in his 20s was wounded in a West Englewood shooting Thursday evening, authorities said.

Around 11:30 p.m., the men, ages 52 and 22, were standing on the sidewalk at 73rd Street and Winchester Avenue when someone inside a passing light-colored car opened fire, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman.

The 22-year-old, who has documented gang ties, was shot in his foot, and took himself to Holy Cross Hospital where he is in stable condition, according to Pacheco.

Police said the 52-year-old was shot in his back and shoulder and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The man was identified as Michael Clark, of the 7300 block of South Paulina Street. He was pronounced at 1 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Officer.

No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating.
