CHICAGO — Gun violence claimed two lives and wounded six other people late Wednesday and early Thursday, police said.

A man was shot to death in Greater Grand Crossing early Wednesday afternoon, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Another man was gunned down in Logan Square early Thursday morning, Estrada said.

Ten minutes after that, Estrada said, a man was grazed by a bullet during a shooting just over a mile away in Avondale.

A man was in serious condition after being shot in his back in Kenwood Wednesday evening, Estrada said.

A shooting just after midnight left a man wounded in University Village, Estrada said.

• Around 7:15 p.m., Estrada said, a 30-year-old man was standing in the 5400 block of South Carpenter Avenue in Back of the Yards when someone shot at him from a green van, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition with a gunshot wound in his right hip, Estrada said.

• At 4:05 p.m., a 14-year-old boy was walking in the 1400 block of South Avers Avenue in North Lawndale when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Estrada said.

The boy was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, Estrada said, where he was in stable condition after being treated for a gunshot wound in his left arm.

Police said the boy is a documented gang member, and they believe the shooting was gang-related.

• About 2:25 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was walking in the 2400 block of Lithuanian Plaza in Chicago Lawn when someone walked up and shot him multiple times, Estrada said.

The boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, Estrada said, where he was listed in serious condition.

Police said the boy is a documented gang member, and they believe the shooting was gang-related.
