GREATER GRAND CROSSING — A 20-year-old man died after being shot Wednesday afternoon in Greater Grand Crossing, police said.

The man was shot in the neck around 1:20 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Harvard Avenue, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Medical examiners later identified the man as Dwayne L. Thomas, of the 7000 block of South Harvard Avenue.

Police said the man was a documented gang member and a convicted felon, and they believe the shooting to be gang-related.
