UNIVERSITY VILLAGE — A 24-year-old man was in good condition after being shot in the leg early Thursday morning on the Near West Side, police said.

Around 12:05 a.m., the man was shot in the 1200 block of South Throop Street, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was transferred to Stroger Hospital after he walked into University of Illinois Hospital, Estrada said.

Police were not immediately able to provide any other information about the shooting.
