CHICAGO — One person was killed and seven people wounded in shootings since Monday evening, police said.

Late Monday, a 36-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in Rogers Park when he was shot and killed, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

Most recently, a man was driving in Portage Park at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday when someone in a passing car shot at the man, Estrada said. The man was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in serious condition, Estrada said.

• At 11:30 p.m. Monday, a 14-year-old boy was standing on the sidewalk in the 300 block of East 132nd Place in Riverdale when he was shot in his lower leg, Estrada said. The boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition, Estrada said.

• At 10:40 p.m., a 16-year-old boy and 20-year-old man were standing on a porch in the 8400 block of South Loomis Street in West Englewood when someone fired at them from a dark-colored sedan that was driving past, Estrada said.

The 16-year-old boy was shot in his left ankle and the 20-year-old man was shot in his right bicep, Estrada said. They were taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in stable condition, Estrada said.

• At 10:40 p.m., a 19-year-old man was outside in the 6200 block of South Evans Avenue in Woodlawn when someone fired at him from a dark-colored sedan, Estrada said. The man was shot in his buttocks and left thigh and was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition, Estrada said.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 8:10 p.m., a 21-year-old man was on the sidewalk in the 2500 block of West Huron Street in West Town when two men shot at him, Estrada said. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition with a wound to his lower back, Estrada said.

• At 6:10 p.m., a 30-year-old man was shot in his hand in the 2800 block of West Cortland Street in Logan Square, Estrada said. The man was in good condition and took himself to Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, Estrada said.

The man is a documented gang member and did not cooperate with the investigation, police said.
