CHICAGO — A man was wounded early Tuesday in a shooting in Portage Park, police said.

The 21-year-old man was driving west on Irving Park Road near North Major Avenue at 1:45 a.m. when a person in a passing silver sedan fired at the man, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The victim was shot in the right shoulder and his right cheek was grazed, Estrada said. He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in serious condition, Estrada said.
