CHICAGO — Three people were killed and 19 people were wounded in shootings across the city over the weekend.

In the most recent shooting, a 17-year-old boy was in good condition at St. Bernard Hospital after being shot in his foot in Englewood, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

At 11:03 p.m., the teen was standing on a front porch in the 5800 block of South Sangamon Street when someone pulled up to the house in a dark van and fired numerous shots, Estrada said.

About two hours earlier, a 33-year-old man was shot during an armed robbery in Back of the Yards.

The man was walking in the 2000 block of West 53rd Street around 9:10 p.m. when at least three men surrounded him and demanded his cellphone. The man initially refused, and one of the robbers shot him once in the back, Estrada said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition. His condition has since stabilized, Estrada said.

Around 7:30 p.m., two strangers were wounded in the same shooting in the 700 block of South Albany Avenue in East Garfield Park. They were both walking north on Albany Avenue when someone in a red van headed in the opposite direction opened fire, Estrada said.

The 22-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were both taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and listed in good condition after being shot once each in their legs, Estrada said.

Sunday night, a man was killed when by an off-duty police sergeant in Mount Greenwood after the man shot another man at a bar.

Around 12:45 p.m. Sunday, a 23-year-old man was shot in his buttocks after getting into an argument with another man. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, Estrada said.

From Saturday night into Sunday, eight people were wounded in shootings, including a man shot by police during a gang disturbance in Back of the Yards.

A 9-year-old boy was wounded by a stray bullet on the Near West Side, and a 52-year-old man also was shot in Woodlawn Saturday night.

From Friday into Saturday, four people were wounded, and two people were killed in shootings including Mutahir Rauf, a premed student at Loyola University.

Two people were shot — one fatally — on the Far South Side.
