CHICAGO — Police shot a man in Back of the Yards Saturday night, critically wounding him.

At 10:45 p.m., police responded to calls of a gang disturbance in the 4700 block of South Ada Street, according to a statement.

When police arrived at the scene, officers saw a man holding a handgun. A chase ensued as the man fled the scene, the statement said.
