Police Issue Warning After Spate of Garage Burglaries on Northwest Side

PORTAGE PARK — Five Northwest Side garages have been burglarized in recent weeks, police warned.

The incidents happened in the:

• 4000 block of North Major Avenue between 9:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. Nov. 19 
• 5000 block of West Cullom Avenue between 8 p.m. - 9 a.m. Nov. 22-23
• 5000 block of West Cullom Avenue between 10 p.m. - 9 a.m. Nov. 22-23
• 4200 block of North Melvina Avenue between midnight and 6 a.m. Nov. 26
• 4000 block of North Moody Avenue between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Nov. 25-26

This is the third alert issued in recent weeks by Chicago police, who have also warned about daytime home burglaries in Portage Park.
