Police Issue Warning After Spate of Home Burglaries on Northwest Side

PORTAGE PARK — Five Northwest Side homes have been burglarized in recent weeks by criminals who broke in during the daytime and early evening, police warned.

In most of the incidents, the burglars entered the homes through doors and windows and took cash, electronics and jewelry, police said this week.

The incidents happened in the:

• 5600 block of West Eddy Street at 8 a.m. Nov. 12
• 3400 block of North Long Avenue between 6 p.m. Nov. 15 and 7 a.m. Nov. 17
• 6100 block of West Addison Street at 6:05 p.m. Nov. 19
• 5700 block of West Addison Street between 6:45 a.m. and 4 p.m. Nov. 24
• 6000 block of West Melrose Street between 7 a.m. and 2:55 p.m. Friday
