CHICAGO — Three people were killed and at least 29 were wounded across the city over Labor Day weekend, including four people shot since Monday morning.

The most recent shooting left a 23-year-old man wounded in South Chicago around 2:12 a.m. Tuesday. The man was standing on the corner in the 8700 block of South Escanaba Avenue when someone exited a light-colored car and opened fire, striking him in the side of the head. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where his condition stabilized, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Around 12:45 a.m. a 19-year-old woman was shot while standing on a corner with friends in the 300 block of South Christiana Avenue in East Garfield Park. She was shot in the lower leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition stabilized, Sedevic said.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the buttocks and thigh around 8:50 p.m. in Belmont Cragin. The man, who was a documented gang member, was standing outside in the 2400 block of North Lamon Avenue in Belmont Cragin when he was shot, Sedevic said.

Around 4:10 p.m. Monday, a 19-year-old man was shot twice in the leg while standing in the 600 block of East 133rd Street in Altgeld Gardens. The man, who was a documented gang member, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition, Sedevic said.

From Sunday night to Monday morning, 11 people were shot, including a 15-year-old girl shot in West Englewood. Among those shot were a man who was fatally shot and another wounded in Rogers Park.

At least 11 people were wounded in shootings from Saturday evening into Sunday.

Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Daries Sept, 34, was fatally shot on the Far South Side and was pronounced dead Sunday morning.

A man was fatally shot in Back of the Yards Friday.

Around 8:15 p.m. Friday, two people were shot in Little Village.
