CHICAGO — At least two people were wounded in shootings Friday on the city's South Side.

About 6:40 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot during a possible drive-by shooting in the 7400 block of South Greenwood Avenue in Greater Grand Crossing, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a police spokesman.

The man was shot in his chest and groin and was taken to John H. Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Sweeney said.

No one is in custody in connection with the shooting.

Hours earlier, a 26-year-old man was shot about a mile away, police said.

About 1:30 p.m., a 26-year-old man walked into St. Bernard with a gunshot wound to his right foot, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a police spokeswoman.

Police said the man was shot in the 6900 block of South Vernon Avenue but did not immediately have details surrounding the shooting.

The man was listed in good condition, Lemmon said.
