Cops to Crack Down on Drunken Drivers in Pilsen Roadside Safety Check

CHICAGO — Police will target drunken drivers during a weekend roadside safety check in Pilsen.

From 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday, police will stop cars and slow traffic as they look for impaired drivers. The safety check will be conducted at 2451 S. Ashland Ave.

During an Albany Park Police District crackdown last Friday and Saturday, police made nine arrests for driving under the influence and issued 40 other tickets. Police also reported three arrests for battery, reckless conduct and resisting arrest.
