Twelve Far Northwest Side public schools will host a town hall at 7 p.m. Tuesday about the CPS budget.

"There would be no way we could operate under this budget," one principal said.

Ten public schools from within the 19th Ward will gather at 6 p.m. Wednesday to voice concerns.

Principal William Hook was told Tuesday to prepare for a drastically reduced budget next year.

The Mount Greenwood Residents Association wants the school to grow more produce rather than hay.

"Corruption breeds incompetence," LaRaviere said, accusing Mayor Rahm Emanuel of fiscal mismanagement.

More winners came from Chicago Public Schools than any other district in the nation.    

Suzana Ustabecir is leaving the Galewood School at the end of June.

The Noble High School Fair will feature 10 of the network's schools on Saturday.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and CPS launched a new Parent University at Corliss High School in Pullman.

Students and parents from 14 Southwest Side schools have formed a group to fight for public schools.

They instead will focus on pressuring the city and state to properly fund Chicago Public Schools.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel spoke as if a strike had been averted; the Chicago Teachers Union said not so fast.

"Neither do I regret, nor apologize" for using the N-word in criticizing CPS, Ald. David Moore added.

"Good luck, people," former Cassell principal Denise Esposito said Tuesday evening to an upset crowd.
