The Museum of Science and Industry is sponsoring free ice cream for National Ice Cream Day.

The park is being designed by the architects behind the 606 and Maggie Daley Park as an urban escape.

It's going to get real ugly. 

It could arrive not long after Christkindlmarket and Millennium Park's ice rink.

But community activist Allan Mellis complained the slimmed-down proposal wasn't slimmed down enough.

The new design for the restaurant shows it will have more outdoor seating.

The 40-foot manmade crag at 337 E. Randolph St. can accommodate between 25 and 100 climbers at a time.

The proposed restaurant is now half the size it was when introduced last year. 

The Chicago Park District quickly dropped a pay-to-play plan amid neighborhood opposition.
