HYDE PARK — The Museum of Science and Industry will be giving away free ice cream Sunday made on-site with liquid nitrogen across the city.

The museum at 5700 S. Lake Shore Drive has partnered with Nitro Dessert Station of Polonia Catering to use liquid nitrogen to make special flavors of ice cream at three locations Sunday for National Ice Cream Day.

Chef Graham Elliot will be at the museum from 1:45-2:45 p.m. Sunday to give away his flavor, “Sweet Corn-ell Drive.”

But the free ice cream day starts earlier Sunday at Guaranteed Rate Field for scoops of “Hey Batter Batter” chocolate cake batter ice cream from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for White Sox Family Sunday.

The day ends Downtown with “The Bean” vanilla bean from 4-5 p.m. at Maggie Daley Park.

The ice cream will only be available while supplies last and will be handed out on a first come, first served basis.

Tickets are required for the ice cream at the museum, but not at Guaranteed Rate Field or Maggie Daley Park.
