DOWNTOWN — Sweater weather may never get uglier.

The Chicago Park District is hosting a second annual "Ugly Sweater Skate" on Saturday at Maggie Daley Park's ice ribbon, 337 E. Randolph St.

The contest Dec. 10 will pit skaters' ugliest holiday sweaters against each other, and for more than bragging(?) rights. Those who don an ugly sweater will be entered into a raffle for prizes, the park district said. The contest will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 10.

The ribbon, a popular wintertime attraction since late 2014, opened for winter late last month.

The contest's grand prize includes four tickets to see "The Magic Flute" at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, as well as a night's stay in the Swissotel, 323 E. Wacker Drive, and a VIP skating package for four including four free skate rentals, four lockers, four hot chocolates and four "fast passes" to the front of the ribbon's line.

The park district will also give out two skating packages, each including two skate rentals, two lockers, two cups of hot chocolate and two fast passes as consolation prizes.

Those who wish to enter the contest are asked to register for the raffle at the ribbon's skate rental counter.
