UPTOWN — After a soft opening earlier this week, Ice Station is now open for business.

The rolled ice cream shop, which opened in the former home of Seafood Hot Pot at 1130 W. Argyle St., will celebrate its grand opening Friday, according to its manager.

The shop, which offers gelato, bubble tea and rolled ice cream, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Rolled ice cream is made by pouring milk onto an ice grill and mixing in the other ingredients. (Check out a video below). It is commonly sold by street vendors in Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Philippines, but shops have been popping up around the U.S. over the last two years, according to Forbes.

The rolled ice cream retails for $6.59 with extra toppings for $1 each. Toppings include: Oreo, banana, red bean, marshmallow, cereal, almond chips and popping boba.
