UPTOWN — Siam Noodle and Rice is moving, and will reopen in the neighborhood before you know it.
Earlier this month, the restaurant at 4654 N. Sheridan Road confirmed it was moving to 4142 N. Broadway. Tuesday, a sign was spotted at the original location letting customers they had officially moved and a grand opening date has been set for Aug. 1.
"Thank you for 30 years! We hope to have many more at 4142 N. Broadway," said another sign.
The building housing the original location was bought by Sarah's Circle, which serves women who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless, and has been vacant besides the restaurant for a decade.
Executive Director Kathy Ragnar confirmed the agency plans to demolish the building "if all goes well by spring of next year." The building is slated to be replaced with a two-story affordable housing and support services facility.
