Vidalia Closes On Lawrence, Owners Mulling Next Move

LINCOLN SQUARE — Less than six months after opening, the owners of Vidalia have closed the sandwich and pizza shop on Lawrence Avenue.

The Vidalia location in Logan Square remains open.

"We ... are only focusing on the Milwaukee Avenue location for now. The Lawrence space will be used for special events, pop ups, etc., while we figure our our next move," owner Georg Simos said via email.

The news was also shared on Facebook Tuesday afternoon.

Vidalia, 1964 W. Lawrence Ave., opened in February, taking over a storefront previously occupied by the Last Pit Stop.

Simos and Alex Tsolakides, who own Dante's Pizzeria, High Dive and Crown Liquors, partnered on the venture with Rodney Staton, chef and co-owner of Humboldt Park's Haywood Tavern.
