Near West Side, Pilsen Shootings Wound 4 People Since Tuesday

CHICAGO — Shootings on the Near West Side and in Pilsen have wounded four people since Tuesday, police said.

• At 2:59 a.m. Wednesday, a 33-year-old man was driving in the 1300 block of West 13th Street when a man or boy fired shots at him from the sidewalk, police said.

The man was hit in his back and neck and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

• Also at 12:54 a.m., a 28-year-old man was sitting on a front porch in the 1000 block of West 14th Street when someone in a light-colored car fired shots at him, police said.

The man was hit in his right ankle and he took himself to University of Chicago Medical Medicine, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, a 19-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 2300 block of West Roosevelt Road when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.

The man was hit in his left thigh and he took himself to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.

• At 11:24 p.m., a 33-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of South Loomis Street when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.

The man was hit in his chest and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
