UPTOWN AND ANDERSONVILLE — There's loads of fun to be had in the neighborhoods this weekend.

Here's a look at six things to do this weekend in Uptown and Andersonville:

Windy City Ribfest: Uptown Saturday Night will host its annual celebration of pork this weekend. The three-day festival features food and performances from local artists like JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound and Lynne Jordan and the Shivers. It is held at Lawrence Avenue and Broadway from Friday-Sunday. More details available here. $5 suggested donation.

Mother Goose Story Time: Mother Goose on the Loose promotes early literacy in young adults and is specifically designed for children 0 to 3 years old, but welcomes children of all ages. The first 30 minutes include a simple story, finger plays and nursery rhymes, according to the Chicago Public Library. Story time starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bezazian Branch of the Chicago Public Library, 1226 W. Ainslie St.

The Nance at the Pride Arts Center: The Broadway at Pride Arts Center will host a preview of Douglas Carter Beane's "The Nance" this weekend. The show "recreates the naughty, raucous world of burlesque's heyday and tells the backstage story of Chauncy Miles and his fellow performers," according to Pride Films and Plays. Tickets to the show are $25 and available here. A limited number of tickets are available at a discount for students, seniors, artists and others who cannot pay full price. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 5 p.m. Sunday. 4139 N. Broadway.

Where's Waldo Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt: Beginning July 1, Women and Children First will revive its annual month-long, neighborhood-wide scavenger hunt for Waldo. Participants can pick up their passport at the bookstore, begin their search at participating businesses and get a stamp at each business where they find the red-and-white-stripe-wearing scamp. Participating businesses include Borderline, Alleycat Comics, Alamo Shoes, Goddess and The Grocer and Candyality. Women and Children First Bookstore, 5233 N. Clark St.

Check out a new Business: Longacre Pizza, which combines Detroit-style and Roman-style pizza, opened earlier this month in Uptown. The pizza shop is open from 4-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 4-9 p.m. on Sunday. 1309 W. Wilson Ave.

Visit the Beach: Arguably one of the best features of living in Uptown is its vicinity to the beach. Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be in the 80s, so make the most of them with some fun in the sun. If you plan to imbibe, be safe and know the rules; drinking tickets can cost you between $100 and $500.
