WEST LOOP — Beauty business Salon Lofts is opening a new location in Fulton Market, officials announced Monday.

Offering individual suites for hair stylists, massage therapists, nail techs and others in the beauty industry, Salon Lofts has leased a 4,680-square-foot space above Free People at 1101 W. Randolph St. in Fulton Market, according to CBRE Chicago, who represented Strategic Assets Associates LLC in the lease.

Salon Lofts, which aims to open in November, will be in the building's third-floor penthouse, which includes an outdoor deck.

Salon Lofts is a national salon and beauty provider with operations in eight states. The business is also leasing suites at a new River North location at 9 W. Erie St., according to the company's website.

Women's clothing retailer Free People announced plans to open a Fulton Market storefront in the building in May 2016. The bi-level shop specializing in trend and vintage clothing opened in March.

CBRE’s Sharon Kahan and Michelle Levy represented Shalom in the transaction. Anthony Genovese, Jason Press and Lew Kornberg of JLL represented Salon Lofts. Strategic Asset Associates, owned by Isaac Shalom, owns four properties in the neighborhood.

The building at 1101 W. Randolph is now 84 percent leased, with only one 3,000-square-foot space remaining.

“The amount of daytime activity here continues to grow as more companies have committed to this area, bringing with them thousands of office users. New residential projects have recently opened as well, which, combined with the already thriving restaurant activity, has made this Chicago’s most dynamic market," Kahan said. "Retailers have recognized this and they want to be here.”
