CHICAGO — A shooting in University Village wounded a 16-year-old boy on Saturday, police said.
At 5:08 p.m., the boy was walking in the 1300 block of South Racine Avenue near Fosco Park when three people walked up to him and one of them opened fire, police said.
The boy was hit in the right side of his lower back and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center and transferred to Stroger Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
No one was in custody.
