Man Surrounded By Gunfire In Latest Eisenhower Shooting, Police Say

By Kelly Bauer | February 9, 2017 1:26pm

CHICAGO — A man's car was hit by gunfire while he drove on the Eisenhower Expy. Wednesday night.

At 8:20 p.m., the man was driving on Interstate 290 at Morgan Avenue when two cars pulled on each side of his car, State Police said. The man heard several "pops," police said, and he thought they were fireworks or rocks hitting his car.

The cars sped past the man, and he drove home, where he saw there were bullet holes in his trunk and the hood of his car, police said.

The man contacted police, but officers didn't find shell casings near where the man said the shooting took place, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, police said, and anyone with information is asked to call officers at 847-294-4400.

Another shooting on the Eisenhower near Morgan wounded a man last November. There have been a spate of expressway shootings in the last several months.
