CHICAGO — A shooting on the Eisenhower Expy. left one person wounded Tuesday, police said.

At 3 p.m., officers responding to a report of a crash on I-290 near Morgan Street found a person shot in his or her abdomen, according to a State Police news release. The person was taken to a hospital for treatment but his or her condition was not immediately available.

The eastbound lanes of I-290 at Morgan Street were temporarily closed as officers investigated, police said. Cars were diverted to Racine Avenue, though State Police said drivers should consider an alternative route.

As of 5:45 p.m., all of the eastboard lanes had opened to traffic.

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call 847-294-4400. Callers can be anonymous, police said.
