Shootings Kill 2 People, Wound 15 Since Friday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings have killed two people and wounded 15 since Friday, police said.

• At 1:40 a.m. Saturday, a man was shot to death in Goose Island, police said.

• At 7:45 p.m. Friday, a man was shot to death in West Pullman, police said.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 5:46 a.m. Saturday, a 3-year-old boy and 23-year-old man were wounded in a shooting in Chicago Lawn.

• At 5:29 a.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in Humboldt Park, police said. The man was driving in the 2400 block of West Division Street when a white SUV pulled up beside him and someone inside fired shots, police said. 

The man was hit in the face above his right eye and took himself to Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, where he was transported to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.

The man was a documented gang member and the incident might be gang-related, police said.

• At 3:27 a.m., three people were shot in Gold Coast, including an off-duty deputy. Details regarding the shooting are still unknown and a person of interest is being questioned, police said. 

• At 2:47 a.m., a 34-year-old man was shot in North Austin, police said. The man was driving down the street in the 5600 block of West Grand Avenue when a white Chevy Malibu pulled up beside him and someone inside fired shots and drove away, police said. 

The man was hit in the face and taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in good condition, police said.

• At 1:46 a.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in Vittum Park, police said. The man was leaving a bar in the 5000 block of West 52nd Street when he got into an argument with a rival gang member, who grabbed a gun from their vehicle and started shooting at the man, police said.

The man was hit in the stomach, arm and leg, and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, police said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

• At 1:29 a.m., a 47-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said. The man was driving home in the 6800 block of South Peoria Street when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.

The man was hit in the arm took himself to St. Bernard Hospital where he was listed in good condition, police said.

• At 12:45 a.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in Lawndale, police said. The man was inside an apartment in the 1400 block of South Avers Avenue when a person he knew pulled out a gun and fired shots, police said.

The man was hit in the neck and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 11:05 p.m. Friday, a 17-year-old boy was shot in Grand Crossing, police said. The boy was standing on the sidewalk in the 7600 block of South Stony Island Avenue when a person in a dark-colored sedan fired shots, police said.

The boy was hit in the buttocks and took himself to Jackson Park Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 5:53 p.m., a 35-year-old man was shot in South Shore, police said.

The man was in the 6700 block of South Ridgeland Avenue when he was shot in the chest, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital in serious condition, police said.

• At 4:08 p.m., a 31-year-old man was shot in Pilsen, police said.

The man was shot in the 1800 block of South Racine Avenue, police said. He was hit in the chest and leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 3:30 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said. The man was in the 6700 block of South Morgan Street when a person approached him, pulled out a gun and announced a robbery, police said.

The man ran away and the person fired shots and hit the man in his hip, police said. He took himself to Holy Cross Hospital and was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said. 

• At 3:27 p.m., a 38-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said. The man was sitting on a porch in the 5900 block of South Carpenter Street when a red SUV drove by and a person inside fired shots, police said.

The man was hit in the hand and foot and took himself to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said. 

No one was in custody unless otherwise noted in these shootings.
