CHICAGO — Kentrell Thompson, 25, was shot to death in Goose Island early Saturday, officials said.
At 1:40 a.m., the man was sitting in a car at a gas station in the 1200 block of North Halsted Street when a person walking out from a gangway fired shots at the car, police said.
The man was hit in his head, police said.
Thompson, of the 800 block of North Christiana Avenue, was pronounced dead at 2:29 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
He was a documented gang member, a police source said.
No one was in custody.
