
CHICAGO — Three people were wounded in a Gold Coast shooting early Saturday, police said.
One of the victims was an off-duty Cook County courts deputy who has worked for sheriff's office for 11 years, the Tribune reported. The shooting happened at 3:27 a.m. in the 1200 block of North State Street, police said.
A 39-year-old man was grazed in the head and taken to Northwestern Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said. A 30-year-old was hit in the lower back and taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in good condition, police said. And a 33-year-old man was hit in the leg and taken to Northwestern Hospital where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
Details regarding the shooting are still unknown and a person of interest is being questioned, police said.
A spokeswoman for the Cook County sheriff's office told the Tribune additional information about the deputy's involvement in the shooting was unavailable.
