CHICAGO — Officers were fired upon Tuesday night in Auburn Gresham, the fifth time someone has shot at police in two weeks, according to the department.

Around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers were in the 1100 block of West 86th Street when shots were fired in their direction, police said. No one was reported injured.

Detectives are questioning someone in the case, police said. No other information was available.

Police originally said the five shootings had occurred since Nov. 27, but the first shooting in the recent spurt actually occurred Nov. 25, when officers were fired on in Garfield Park.

On Nov. 27, officers shot and killed a man who they said fired at them after he shot a pregnant 24-year-old. The next day, police were fired on by two men whom police saw illegally selling guns, according to the Police Department.

On Thursday, a police commander was shot at in South Chicago, leading to a SWAT standoff that ended with three men arrested.
