CHICAGO — Shootings on the South and West sides have killed one person and wounded 11 others since Tuesday morning, according to police.

A 30-year-old man was killed in South Shore Tuesday evening, police said.

Among the wounded is a 14-year-old boy shot while taking out trash in Austin, police said.

In other shootings:

• At 1:31 a.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said.

He was in the 5100 block of West Madison Street when he was grazed in his back and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was treated and released, police said. Other information is not available, as the victim was being "very uncooperative," police said. The man has gang affiliations, a police source said.

• At 10:53 p.m., a 28-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said.

The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 6700 block of South May Street when someone in a passing dark-colored car began firing, police said. He was struck in his left leg and managed to drive himself to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

• At 9:15 p.m., a 29-year-old was shot on the Near West Side, police said.

The man was a passenger in a van in the 2300 block of West Adams Street when someone in a dark-colored car began firing, police said. He was grazed in his head and was brought to Strgoer Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

• At 6:45 p.m., two teenagers were shot in Roseland.

• At 2:20 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham.

• At 2 p.m., a 17-year-old was shot in Garfield Park.

• At 9 a.m., three people were shot in Garfield Park.
