CHICAGO — Addonis Johnson, 30, was shot dead in South Shore on Tuesday night, officials said.

Around 8:10 p.m., officers found the man unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 2800 block of East 79th Street, police said. He had been shot twice in his chest.

First responders brought the man to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

Johnson, of the 9000 block of South Dante, was later pronounced dead, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No arrests have been made. The victim is a documented gang member, police said.
