Boy, 14, Shot While Taking Out Garbage In Austin, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy was wounded in an Austin shooting Tuesday night, according to police.

At 8:32 p.m., the boy was taking out trash in an alley in the 1700 block of North Linder Avenue when a man walked up and began firing at him, police said.

He was struck in his left leg and managed to get himself to Loretto Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

No arrests have been made.
