UPTOWN — Bambu Desserts is officially open in Uptown.

The Vietnamese coffee and dessert shop at 5010 N. Broadway opened at the end of October, an employee for the restaurant said.

The cafe offers smoothies, coffee, chè, teas, and seating for about 10 people, said owner Kelly Nguyen.

Nguyen chose the area because of its vicinity to Argyle street, which has a huge Asian market, she said.

Bambu is a franchise with locations all over, but this is the first in Chicago, she said.

"Chè is a Vietnamese word for home-made beverages, dessert drinks and puddings" according to its website, which adds its chè "is made to order using freshly cut coconut water or daily prepared coconut milk."

You can check out some of its drinks here.
