LOGAN SQUARE — Banh Mi Baget may have served its last bowl of pho.

The Vietnamese eatery, 2735 N. Milwaukee Ave., has been closed during normal business hours — possibly for more than a month, some neighbors say — and its windows were recently covered up with paper.

Attempts to reach the business were unsuccessful Monday. The restaurant's website said it was "temporarily closed" and asked customers to "please check back soon."

The restaurant closed temporarily last year due to health code violations. A number of critical violations were reported during the inspection including failing to properly refrigerate meat, eggs and seafood.

It's unclear if the most recent closure is due to health code violations.

According to city records, the restaurant passed its last health inspection on Sept. 13 with conditions, meaning serious or critical violations were found, but were corrected during the inspection.

Violations like improper storage of food in grocery bags and cold water turned off at the pipe were reported.

At one point, Banh Mi Baget operated six locations throughout the city — all specializing in banh mi and pho.

But the Roscoe Village and Downtown locations have closed this year, according to city records.

The Logan Square location opened in February of 2015.
