UBS Tower? Nope, It's Cubs Tower (For Now)

By Kelly Bauer | October 19, 2016 10:47am

CHICAGO — Don't call it UBS Tower — it's Cubs Tower. At least for now.

The tower, 1 N. Wacker Drive, has put a Cubs "C" in front of its sign so it reads, "Cubs."

They might be a bit excited about this Cubs playoff thing everyone keeps talking about.

The town seems to be dripping with Cubs pride: American Airlines is putting Cubs flags on the seats for flights to Los Angeles, Daley Plaza's fountain is bright blue for the postseason and even South Siders are letting go of the Sox-Cubs rivalry to root for the North Side time.

The Cubs are down 1-2 against the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. Game Four starts about 7 p.m. in Los Angeles.

The Cubs and Wrigley Field are 95 percent owned by a trust established for the benefit of the family of Joe Ricketts, owner and CEO of DNAinfo.com. Joe Ricketts has no direct involvement in the management of the iconic team.
