Shootings Kill 2 People, Wound 9 Since Monday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two people have been killed and nine wounded in shootings since Monday, police said.

• At 6:40 p.m. Monday, a 30-year-old man was shot and killed in Gage Park.

• At 4:30 p.m., an 18-year-old man was gunned down in West Pullman.

In non-fatal shootings:

• Most recently, at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday, a 26-year-old man was shot in Rogers Park.

• At 12:53 a.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in Chatham.

• At 8:45 p.m. Monday, a 30-year-old man was shot in Garfield Park, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was int he 3300 block of West Gladys Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his leg and took himself to Stroger Hospital, where he was in critical condition, Amezaga said.

• At 6:05 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in Gage Park, Amezaga said. The boy was riding his bicycle in the 3500 block of West 57th Street when two people on foot fired shots at him.

The boy was hit in his back and stomach and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Amezaga said.

• At 3:55 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in Austin, Amezaga said. The man was walking in the 5600 block of West Madison Street when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his left leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition, Amezaga said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

• At 3:27 p.m., a shooting in Englewood left a 19-year-old man wounded.

• At 12:45 p.m., two teens were shot and wounded in North Lawndale.

• At 8 a.m., a 17-year-old was shot in North Lawndale, Amezaga said. The teen was in the 1300 block of South Kedzie Avenue when a person or people in a car fired shots at him.

The teen was hit in his thigh and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Amezaga said. The shooter or shooters, who were possibly in a white van, drove off.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
