4 Dead, 16 Wounded In Shootings Since Saturday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Four people were killed and 16 others were wounded in shootings throughout the city since Saturday afternoon, according to police.

A 20-year-old man was killed and a 30-year-old man was wounded in a Near North Side shooting early Sunday, police said.

A Washington Heights shooting killed a 23-year-old man at 2:25 a.m. Sunday, police said.  A 36-year-old man was killed in a Washington Park shooting shortly before that, police said.

Sunday's first homicide came at midnight, when a 20-year-old man was killed while at a Gage Park party.

In other non-fatal shootings:

• A 23-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said.

At 6:30 a.m. Sunday, the man was in the 6400 block of South Yale Avenue when he was shot in the jaw, police said. It wasn't immediately known what hospital he was taken to, but police said he was in critical condition.

• At 3:45 a.m. a 14-year-old boy was shot in North Lawndale, police said.

He was standing in the street in the 3900 block of West Cermak Road when at 3:45 a.m. he heard shots and felt pain, police said. The boy was struck in his buttocks and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

• A 41-year-old woman was shot in Heart of Chicago early Sunday, police said. 

She was in a car at a stop sign in the 2200 block of South Wolcott Avenue at 3:15 a.m. when someone began firing, police said. She was hit in her right arm and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

• At 3:15 a.m., a 37-year-old man was shot in Rogers Park.

• A 35-year-old man was shot in East Garfield Park early Sunday, police said.

The man was in the 3000 block of West Arthington Street at 2:55 a.m. when shots rang out and he was hit in the left leg, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said. The man was being uncooperative, officers said.

• A 41-year-old man was shot in Back of the Yards early Sunday, police said. 

The man was in the street in the 5400 block of South Winchester at 2:25 a.m. when shots rang out, police said. He was hit in the left leg and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, police said.

• A 32-year-old man was shot in West Garfield Park late Saturday, police said. 

He was walking in the 4000 block of West West End Avenue at 11 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain, police said. The man was struck in his left leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not released but police said he was stable.

• A 19-year-old man was shot in Austin late Saturday, police said. 

The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 5600 block of West Madison Street at 10:23 p.m. when shots rang out, police said. He was hit in his right knee and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

• A 17-year-old was shot in Washington Heights at 9:35 p.m. Saturday.

• A 62-year-old man was wounded in a North Lawndale attack Saturday night, police said. 

The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 1400 block of South Tripp Avenue at 8:35 p.m. when a man began firing at him, police said. He was struck in the left armpit and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

• A 19-year-old man was shot in Englewood Saturday afternoon, police said.

He was walking in the 7100 block of South Halsted Street at 5:25 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain. A bullet grazed him in the right shin and he was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

• A 21-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham Saturday afternoon, police said.

The man was on a bike in the 1700 block of West 84th Street at 4:45 p.m. when someone in a white van began firing, police said. He was hit in his right arm and right hand and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

• Two 14-year-old boys were shot in Gage Park Saturday afternoon.

•Saturday's first shooting happened in Uptown, where a 29-year-old man was shot.
