Washington Park Shooting Kills Stanley Easley, 36, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 36-year-old man was shot dead in Washington Park early Sunday, according to police.

The man was in the 5100 block of South Indiana Avenue at 1:55 a.m. when a dark-colored SUV drove up and a man exited before shooting a handgun twice, police said.

He was struck in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The shooter then got back into the car and drove eastbound on 51st Street, police said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Stanley Easley, of the 1800 block of West Marquette Road.

Police said he was a documented gang member.

No arrests have been made.
