Near North Side Shooting Kills Marquese Fleming On Division Street: Police

CHICAGO — A 20-year-old man was killed and a 30-year-old man was seriously wounded in a Near North Side shooting early Sunday, according to police.

At 4 a.m. in the 100 block of West Division Street, someone came out of a fast food restaurant and began firing at the men who were nearby, police said.

The shooter then fled in a Chevy Tahoe, police said.

The 20-year-old was fatally struck, police said, while the 30-year-old was struck in the back and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, police said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the 20-year-old as Marquese Fleming, of the 1000 block of North Larrabee Street.

Police said he was a documented gang member.
