CHICAGO — Shootings have left one man dead and eight wounded since Wednesday, police said.

At 11:50 p.m., a 28-year-old man was shot to death in Roseland.

In nonfatal shootings:

• Most recently, at 5:20 a.m., a man was shot in Garfield Park, said Officer Nicole Trainor, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was in the 4400 block of West Madison Street when he was shot.

The man was hit in the leg. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition, Trainor said.

No further information was immediately available.

• At 4:25 a.m. Thursday, a 20-year-old man was shot in Garfield Park, police said. The man was standing outside in the 600 block of North Drake Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his side and was taken to Stroger Hospital. His condition was not available, but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 12:50 a.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in Marquette Park, police said. The man was in an alley in the 7200 block of South Western Avenue when a man rode a bike up to him and fired shots at him.

The man was hit in the right leg. He took himself to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was in good condition, police said.

• At 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, a 32-year-old man was shot in Back of the Yards, police said. The man was hit in his head.

• At 9:22 p.m., a 21-year-old woman was wounded by gunfire in Riverdale, police said. The woman was in her apartment in the 700 block of East 133rd Street when two men fired shots at a man standing outside. The shots came through the woman's door.

The woman's buttocks was grazed, police said. She refused treatment.

The shooting appeared to be gang-related, police said.

• At 8:50 p.m., a 31-year-old man was shot in Woodlawn, Trainor said. The man was outside in the 6100 block of South Evans Avenue when he heard shots.

The man was hit in the leg and took himself to University of Chicago Hospital, where he was in good condition, Trainor said. He was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital.

The man was a documented gang member and was thought to be playing a dice game when shot, police said.

• At 4:15 p.m., a 38-year-old man was shot in South Chicago, Trainor said. The man was standing in the 8000 block of South Coles Avenue when he was hit in the shoulder.

The man took himself to University of Chicago Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Trainor said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

• At 10:55 a.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in West Englewood, Trainor said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
