CHICAGO — A 29-year-old man was shot Wednesday morning in West Englewood, police said.

At 10:55 a.m., the man was outside in the 7300 block of South Winchester Avenue when a silver SUV drove by and someone inside fired shots, said Officer Nicole Trainor, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was hit in the leg. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Trainor said.

The SUV with the shooter drove off, police said.
