ANDERSONVILLE — Andersonville has a new spot for women's clothing.

Earlier this month, Francesca's opened at 5301 N. Clark St., said Ald. Harry Osterman (48th) in his weekly newsletter.

The Texas-based women's fashion retailer has opened in the former Byline Bank. The shop sells women's clothing, handbags and accessories to a target audience of 18- to 35-year-olds.

"Because we are a boutique, we only carry a few of each item, so everything you find is uniquely yours. You can kiss seeing your outfit twin at the party goodbye!" according to Francesca's web site.

A Wall Street Journal profile of the company described how the company's stores stock "a wide variety of styles but limits the quantity to create the impression of scarcity." Francesca stores also add new merchandise to its boutiques five days a week.

Francesca's opened its first location in Houston in 1999 and now has more than 600 locations in 48 states, according to its website. In Chicago, the chain has five other locations: in Water Tower Place, in the South Loop, in Lincoln Park, in Bucktown and the Near North Side.

Francesca's is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
