Every Bunny Welcome at 6 Easter Egg Hunts On Near West Side This Weekend

NEAR WEST SIDE — Near West Side families are invited to enjoy a series of Easter egg hunts planned in the West Loop, Little Italy and Pilsen this weekend. 

Soul City Church's Big Find Egg Hunt 

Soul City Church will host the city's largest Easter egg hunt with 50,000 eggs from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Mary Bartelme Park, 115 S. Sangamon St. in the West Loop. 

Families from across Chicago, and children of all ages, are invited to attend The Big Find, and stay after for outdoor games, prizes and candy in the park. The Easter Bunny will also be on hand for photo opportunities to interact with guests.

More than 2,500 people are expected to attend the hunt Saturday. Participants can register for the hunt online. 

Soul City Church will also host Easter services at 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday and at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Sunday. 

Underwater Easter Egg Hunt 

Sheridan Park is planning an underwater Easter egg hunt at its pool from 5-7 p.m. Friday inside its field house at 910 S. Aberdeen St.

Children 3 and older can take part if they have a swimsuit. The cost is $2 to participate.

Egg Hunt In The Dark 

If your kids don't want to get wet, there's another egg hunt in the dark from 8-10 p.m. Friday. Bring flashlights, or a cellphone, to find the eggs. There will also be face painting, rock climbing, music and arts and crafts.

The fee is also $2.

Sheridan Park Egg Hunt Saturday

Sheridan Park will host an Easter egg hunt from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday in the park, 910 S. Aberdeen St.

The Saturday hunt is free. 

All three Sheridan Park events are co-sponsored by Ald. Danny Solis (25th).

Skinner Park Doggie Egg Hunt 

The Skinner Park Advisory Council will host a Doggie Egg Hunt from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the Loomis Street Community Gardens, 1399 W. Monroe St. 

Dogs can hunt for plastic eggs filled with doggie treats and prizes at the 8th annual event

Dogs must be on a leash to participate. 

Pilsen Easter Egg Hunt 

Thalia Hall will host a community clean up and Easter egg hunt at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. 

The community clean-up will kick off at 10:30 a.m. at St. Procopius Catholic Church, 1641 S. Allport St., and the Easter egg hunt will start at 12:30 p.m. at Thalia Hall, 1807 S. Allport St. The Easter Bunny is scheduled to stop by Thalia Hall, too. 

The egg hunt is free. 

Prizes were donated by Pilsen-area businesses and 16" On Center.
