Pilsen Drive-by Shooting Kills Victor Alvarado, 26, Police Say

PILSEN — A 26-year-old man died after a drive-by shooting in Pilsen Saturday night, police said.

Around 11 p.m., the man was walking in the 1900 block of South May Street, about one block from Thalia Hall, 1807 S. Allport St., when someone shot at him from a passing silver sedan, according to a police incident report.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. He was later pronounced dead.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Officer later identified him as Victor Alvarado, of the 2500 block of West 40th Street.

No one is in custody, police said.
