LINCOLN PARK — Fairways, a bar/restaurant that doubled as a golf simulator, quietly closed on Armitage Avenue.

But the owners behind the establishment at 1141 W. Armitage Ave. are looking to open a new location in Wicker Park by late 2016, according to a Facebook post.

"Our last day of service in Lincoln Park will be June 30th, so that we can focus our time and efforts on the new Fairways location (and actually play a round or two of golf this summer!)," the post reads. "This is a tedious process as we evolve the concept and move to the Wicker Park neighborhood. The re-open date is aimed at late 2016."

A "For Lease" sign was affixed to the window Friday. The owners couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

Fairways became the city's first golf simulator restaurant and bar when it opened in the former P.J. Clarke's space in Lincoln Park in December of 2013.

In addition to a bar and a full food menu, Fairways offered four reservation-only golf simulators with clubs that allowed folks to swing a few balls before or after a meal.
