3 Killed, 22 Wounded In Shootings Since Saturday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Three people were killed, including a teenage boy, and 22 others were hurt in citywide shootings between Saturday and Sunday mornings, police said.

The boy, who was either 15 or 16 years old, was killed in a shooting that left another boy wounded in Kenwood early Sunday morning.

Less than two hours earlier and a mile away in Grand Boulevard, a 23-year-old man was found shot to death in a vacant lot.

Earlier Saturday night, a 19-year-old man was shot to death while driving in Austin.

At 9 p.m. Saturday, police shot and critically wounded a man during a raid on a "suspected gun house" in Austin.

• Most recently, around 9 a.m. Sunday, a 28-year-old man was walking in the 4800 block of South Laflin Street in Back of the Yards when someone pulled up in a gray car and shot at him, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was shot once in his stomach, twice in his right leg and once in his left leg, Lemmon said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Lemmon said.

• Around 4:45 a.m. Sunday morning, officers found a man in his 40s unresponsive with a gunshot wound in his head in the 4500 block of West Maypole Avenue in West Garfield Park, according to a preliminary police incident report.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

• At 3:15 a.m., a 32-year-old man was shot during an argument in Wicker Park.

• Around the same time, a 22-year-old was parking a car in the 0-100 block of East Garfield Boulevard in Washington Park when someone shot at him from a black SUV, police said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds in his right arm and neck, police said.

• Also at 3:15 a.m., a 34-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were shot in the 2400 block of West 45th Street in Brighton Park, police said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in critical condition after being shot multiple times in his chest, police said.

The boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was "stable" with gunshot wounds in his leg and buttocks, police said.

Police could not provide any other information on the shooting, as the boy was uncooperative, police said.

Police said the shooting appeared to be gang-related.

• At 3:10 a.m., two men were shot while stopped at a red light in Pilsen.

• At 2:10 a.m., a 25-year-old man was getting into a car in the 8700 block of South Morgan Street in Auburn Gresham when someone pulled up in a car and shot at him, police said.

The man was shot in his head, back, stomach and buttocks, police said. He was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition.

• At 2 a.m., a 23-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were shot in the 0-100 block of West Leamington Avenue in Austin, police said.

The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital after being shot in her chest and left ankle, police said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound in his left leg, police said.

Police could not provide their conditions but said both were "stable."

Police could not immediately provide any other information on the shooting.

• At 1:30 a.m., a 37-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 7900 block of South Ingleside Avenue in Chatham when a man shot at him, police said.

The man was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital with a gunshot wound in his right hand, police said.

• Around the same time, a 17-year-old was standing at the corner of 76th Street and South Chicago Avenue when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his right leg, police said.

The teen brought himself to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

Police said the teen is a documented gang member.

• At 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, a 45-year-old man was standing at the corner of 20th Street and Albany Avenue in Lawndale when three men shot at him from across the street, police said.

The man brought himself to St. Anthony's Hospital, where he was "stable" after being shot in his right arm, police said.

• At 8:45 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in his abdomen in the 3800 block of West Roosevelt Road in North Lawndale, police said.

The man was brought to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Police could not immediately provide any other information on the shooting, as the man was uncooperative.

• At 6:30 p.m., a 24-year-old man was exiting a car in the 4900 block of West Adams Street in Austin when another man pulled up in a car and shot at him, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in serious condition with a gunshot wound in his leg, Lemmon said.

• At 6 p.m., a 17-year-old and a 20-year-old woman were shot while driving in the 4300 block of West Jackson Boulevard in West Garfield Park, Lemmon said.

The teen was shot in his hip, Lemmon said, and the woman was shot in her left leg.

They brought themselves to Rush Hospital, where they were both "stable," Lemmon said.

• At 1:30 p.m., a 19-year-old man was standing in the 6600 block of South Harper Avenue in South Shore when he heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

The man was brought to Jackson Park Hospital, where he was in good condition, Lemmon said.

• At 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning, a 19-year-old man was walking in the 500 block of North Laramie Avenue in Austin when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his hand, Lemmon said.

The man was brought to West Suburban Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
