Rachee Williams, 23, Found Shot To Death In Bronzeville Lot, Police Say

GRAND BOULEVARD — Officers found a man shot to death in a vacant lot in the Grand Boulevard area of Bronzeville late Saturday night, police said.

Around 11 p.m., officers responded to a call of a "person down" and found a 23-year-old man unconscious in the 5100 block of South Calumet Parkway, according to a preliminary police incident report.

The man was pronounced dead on scene, police said. He was identified as Rachee Williams, of the 11100 block of South Eggleston Avenue, by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Williams was pronounced dead at 11:52 p.m. An autopsy showed he died of a gunshot wound in his head in a homicide.

Officers recovered a weapon at the scene, police said.

No one is in custody, police said.
