3 Killed, 6 Wounded in Shootings Since Monday Morning, Police Say

CHICAGO — Three people were killed, including two teenage boys, and six other people were hurt in shootings around the city between Monday morning and Tuesday morning, police said.

At 6:34 p.m. Monday, Leonardo Betancourt, 13, was killed in the 4500 block of South Ashland Avenue in Back of the Yards.

Four people were shot in Englewood between 9:30 and 11:15 p.m., including Randle Young, 16, who was killed.

Around 10:30 p.m., Robert Rosenau, 28, was killed in the 2000 block of North Pulaski Road in Hermosa.

Earlier, around 9:05 a.m. Monday, a 19-year-old man was shot in the 12400 block of South Lowe Avenue in West Pullman.

• Just after 9 p.m. Monday, a 22-year-old woman was shot in her head while riding in back of a car traveling in the 300 block of West 116th Street in West Pullman, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The woman was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, Pacheco said. Police could not provide her condition but said she was "stable."

• Around 1:35 p.m. Monday afternoon, Pacheco said, a 24-year-old man was grazed in his head by a bullet in the 3300 block of West Congress Parkway in East Garfield Park.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital and released after treatment, Pacheco said.

Police said the man was not cooperating with authorities.

No one is in custody for either shooting, Pacheco said.
